Privacy notice
Our rule: no non-essential cookies or storage, ever. Leave Hacks sets no cookies and keeps nothing on your device that would need your consent, so there is no consent banner.
Your browser's local storage holds two things, and only on your device:
- what you type into the planner, so it is still there when you come back;
- your analytics opt-out, if you set one below.
We count page visits, with Cloudflare Web Analytics, and a few events, such as which offers are shown, as totals only. Nothing is tied to you: no cookies, no identifiers, no profile. Event counts are kept for 3 months, then only longer-term totals are kept.
This counting is allowed without consent under the statistical exception in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), on these conditions, which we keep:
- this page explains it;
- you can opt out below, and the Global Privacy Control signal is honoured;
- the data is aggregate only;
- nothing is passed to affiliate networks beyond the click itself.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links next to your results go to travel companies. If you book through one, we may earn commission, at no extra cost to you. Each of these links is marked "affiliate link, we may earn commission".
These links go through our own server, which counts the click as a total, then sends you on. The network learns only that a click came from Leave Hacks: we pass on no identifier and nothing about you.
Open Government Licence
Bank holiday dates come from the GOV.UK list. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Analytics opt-out
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, nothing is counted in your browser, whatever you choose here. You can also opt out yourself. The choice is saved in this browser only. Affiliate link clicks are still counted as totals on our server, since that count is made without touching your device.
JavaScript is off, so this browser can't save an opt-out, and none of our analytics scripts run.
